# OnlyFans glossary for creators

> Plain-English definitions of the terms you'll meet running an OnlyFans page or talking to an agency.

## Money and pricing

**Platform fee** — The 20% of every transaction that OnlyFans keeps. Creators receive the remaining 80%.

**Revenue share** — A pricing model in which an agency is paid a percentage of a creator's earnings instead of a fixed fee. It aligns incentives: the agency only earns when the creator does. See [pricing](https://trans.bunny-agency.com/pricing).

**PPV (pay-per-view)** — Locked content sent in a message or post that a subscriber pays to open. On most managed pages PPV earns more than subscriptions.

**Tip menu** — A price list of things a subscriber can tip for, such as a custom photo or a name mention.

**Customs** — Content made to order for one subscriber, priced individually.

**Rebill** — Automatic renewal of a subscription. "Rebill on" means the subscriber will be charged again when the period ends.

**Free trial link** — A link that gives new subscribers free access for a set number of days, used to seed a page or a promotion.

**Chargeback** — A payment reversed by the subscriber's bank. OnlyFans deducts chargebacks from the creator's balance.

**Payout** — The transfer of a creator's balance from OnlyFans to their bank or e-wallet. Earnings are held as pending for a period before they can be withdrawn.

**Whale** — Industry slang for a subscriber who spends far more than average. A small share of subscribers typically generates a large share of revenue.

**LTV (lifetime value)** — Total revenue one subscriber generates from first subscription to cancellation.

**Churn** — The share of subscribers who cancel in a given period. Lowering churn is usually cheaper than acquiring new subscribers.

## Management and chatting

**OnlyFans agency** — A company that manages parts of a creator's OnlyFans business — typically chatting, marketing, strategy and leak removal — in exchange for a share of revenue. Also called OnlyFans management or OFM.

**Trans OnlyFans agency** — An OnlyFans agency, or a team within one, that specialises in managing trans and non-binary creators: their audience, platform-moderation risks and privacy needs.

**Chatter** — A person employed by an agency to reply to subscriber messages on a creator's page and sell PPV and customs, following a voice guide approved by the creator.

**Voice guide** — A document describing how a creator writes, what they offer and what is off-limits, so chatters stay consistent and inside the creator's boundaries.

**Chat ratio** — A chatting performance metric used by agencies to relate chat-driven revenue to the size of the audience being chatted with. Definitions vary between agencies, so ask how a quoted ratio is calculated.

**Mass message** — One message sent to many subscribers at once, often containing PPV.

**Welcome message** — The automatic first message a new subscriber receives.

**Account manager** — The creator's main contact at an agency, responsible for strategy, scheduling and reporting.

**Account audit** — A structured review of a page's pricing, profile, messaging, traffic sources and privacy settings.

## Marketing

**Funnel** — The path a stranger takes to becoming a subscriber: social post, profile, link-in-bio, OnlyFans page, subscription.

**Link-in-bio** — A landing page linked from a social profile that lists a creator's links, used because most platforms allow only one link and restrict direct links to adult sites.

**SFS (shoutout for shoutout)** — Two creators promoting each other to their audiences at no cost.

**Shadowban** — An unannounced reduction in a social account's reach. Platforms rarely confirm them.

**SFW / NSFW** — Safe for work / not safe for work. TikTok and Instagram require SFW content; Reddit and X permit labelled NSFW content.

**Tracking link** — An OnlyFans campaign link that records how many subscribers and how much revenue came from a specific source.

**Top percentage** — The ranking OnlyFans shows a creator (for example "top 1%"), based on earnings relative to all creator accounts. Because most accounts earn very little, a top percentage sounds more impressive than the income it implies.

## Privacy, safety and legal

**Geoblocking** — An OnlyFans setting that hides a creator's profile from visitors in chosen countries, states or regions.

**Stage name** — The professional name a creator uses publicly, kept separate from their legal name.

**Metadata (EXIF)** — Information stored inside photo and video files, such as location and device. It should be removed before publishing.

**Watermark** — A visible or invisible mark on content identifying its owner, which deters reposting and helps prove ownership.

**Leak** — Paid content redistributed without permission, for example on forums or file-sharing sites.

**DMCA takedown** — A formal notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act asking a host or search engine to remove infringing content. See [services](https://trans.bunny-agency.com/services#protection).

**Doxxing** — Publishing someone's private identifying information without consent.

**Identity verification (KYC)** — The government-ID check OnlyFans requires before an account can earn. Your legal identity is known to OnlyFans but is not shown to subscribers.

**1099-NEC** — The US tax form on which OnlyFans reports a US creator's earnings. Creators are self-employed for tax purposes.

**Independent contractor** — A creator's legal status on OnlyFans: self-employed, not an employee of the platform or of an agency.
